Agree about Cowboys & Aliens. Then again, I liked that John Carter movie, too and that one seems to be universally reviled.

Like most action movies that come out of Hollywood, instead of being dumb fun, they just end up being dumb.

I thought it was a really intelligent. Strong script. Developed characters. And an unusual genre hybrid.

Certainly it’s not dumb like Independence Day.

Last good dvd I found in the thrift shop was Crimes And Misdemeanors. I continue my search for the Hopkins/Gibson The Bounty. Gallipoli would be great as well.

I want True Romance and Natural Born Killers but I refuse to pay more than AU$2 (AU$3 for the blu ray) for each of them.

I bought my BD copy in a chaz, just a couple of months after it was released, as part of a B2F£1.50 deal. I’ve seen others since, so they are out there.

Nothing is as dumb as ' Independence Day ' .
What a stupid movie. It could have been good , the potential was there but ...

I know this is the DVD but a couple of weeks ago I was at my local thrift shop and had a laugh when I saw about a dozen VHS tapes of James Bond movies. One if them had the original price sticker on it.
    $29.99.

Amazing to think that they used to have that sort of value.

Which Dunkirk? The one from a couple years ago or the late 50s version with John Mills? Anyway, I just saw two copies of the newer one (both Blus) at my favorite used dvd store for $7 but seeing as you all get stuff for a lot less, I'm guessing that's too much?

Yes, I was thinking of the new one. I should be able to pick it up a lot cheaper than that, but it’s taking longer than expected.

I can keep an eye out for you.

What is your max for the BD, bearing in mind I’d most likely have to mail it to you as well?

That’s very kind, but there’s no need to do that. Thank you, though.

You’re welcome. I’ll keep my eye out anyway. If I find it cheap, I’ll just send it to you for nowt. Good karma and all that. People have done it for me before now, and I have done the same.
