R.I.P., You magnificent basher. Fortunately, You're now in the same place as legends like Howlin' Wolf: You're in "the place where the Soul of man can NEVER die." And You'll live on through the wonderful music on the Stones albums. - siyt
Charlie was one of my favorite drummers ever. He was the only Stone who had his head on right. He’s with Brian, Keith Moon, Ian McLagan, Bobby Keys, Billy Preston and many, many others who crossed his life. RIP to a real giant who kept the beat.
Agreed. I was born around the time “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” came out, and my mom had all the early Stones albums on vinyl from before I came along, and, as soon as I was old enough to operate the record player, the Stones were simply always there. Wore out Out of Our Heads and “the cake album,” i.e. Let It Bleed, from the time I was 7 or 8. One of the first new albums I ever bought with my own money was Emotional Rescue.
How could I possibly express the joy Charlie (and the band) have given me through the years ...I can't. He never had an off night. RIP dear Charlie ..
Charlie was our darling. RIP Is “needs a medical procedure” the rock publicist’s new euphemism for “days away from dying?” What was said about Charlie recently is basically exactly what was announced about ZZ Top’s Dusty Hill before he passed.
RIP Charlie Think it's time to call it a day boys. There is no Rolling Stones without the Wembley Whammer
Very sad news. He was surely legend and was one of the greats. RIP Charlie Watts Thanks for the music Is this now the end of The Rolling Stones?
