Just Guessing from the back of their heads, from Left to Right-Peter Cetera,Lee Loughnane,Terry Kath,Walt Parazaider,Danny Seraphine,Laudir,Jimmy Pankow-cause he always had his shirt off,Robert Lamm on the end.
That's great! -I rarely see pictures of Terry's Les Paul Recording guitar (second from right). -The Gibson SG on the far right looks to be different than the one seen on the CTA gatefold. -I believe that Terry had a white Strat at some point. -The attempt to re-do the stickers on the Telecaster looks close ... but not quite right.
From Left to Right Peter Cetera (bass/vocals), Lee Loughnane (trumpet/flugelhorn), Terry Kath (guitars/vocals), Walt Parazaider (woodwinds/flute/sax), Danny Seraphine (drums), Laudir de Oliveira (percussions), James Pankow (trombone)
That's what I thought and it makes sense because his keyboards/piano's position when the band was performing live during the 70's and the 80's was at the far left of the stage when you are facing them looking from the front of the stage.
We can also use this photo to compare the sticker positions on his Strat to those shown in the photos of his guitars on post #778.
Laudir was definitely taller than Jimmy and of course Danny too. Here is a nice visual of their heights. Walt, Lee and Robert are all 6’2 or more. The others are less than 6 ft, Danny being the shortest. img host
Laudir's hair was also the tallest. Also, Pankow normally wears elevated shoes from the get-go adding a few inches to his height.
Just ran across this compelling interview with Danny Seraphine in Modern Drummer from 1979/80. Danny Seraphine: The Rhythm of Chicago - Modern Drummer Magazine
My feelings about Terry were confirmed in the Kath doc when it was mentioned that a power trio would have made him a bigger name. The Terry Kath Experience with Cetera and Seraphine would have been a smoking trio.
Frankly, Danny Seraphine is my favorite rock drummer. Just have never heard anyone whose offered more to the music than he. Tris Imboden spent a lot of time with the band - and I will buy anything they ever realease - but I’ve always preferred Danny. I have both of his CTA solo releases. They satisfy the urge to hear his chops, but they cannot replace his position on the kit with the band.
Back in the day I considered him the best. Others may disagree, but if he wasn't the best, it certainly wouldn't take long to call roll in his class.
Weird that this thread should reappear today. Last night I had a dream in which Chicago performed Dialogue Part One. Don't know where that came from. Of course, it's been playing in my head all day.
