Would Rich have to agree? I would think as long as he's credited and gets paid his proper share of royalties, Chris could do it whether Rich approved or not, no?

Should have been the last song on Southern. They should have put that on and dumped the cover song.

Think I read somewhere that it was left off the album due to the descending riff being too similar to Remedy.

Whether it is, well that's up for debate I suppose.

    Yup.
Riff Robinson does that a lot if you notice. Takes good riffs from one song (that hasn't been released) and grafts them into another song and *voila* another new song from a previous incarnation.

Would largely depend on their publishing agreement. If John Fogerty could be sued for plagiarizing himself anything is possible in the publishing world to mess around with rights.

Come on, that's not how it works. both RR and CR have re-recorded TBC tunes and released them with their new bands.

Not to me. Play the two at the same time and you will see what I mean. Remedy is much better.
And it would have added to the theme of the album as sounding more together.

Thanks for posting that list. Now we need the band to release those songs. Some day - maybe.

We only know his name because he was in the Black Crowes for a year almost 30 years ago, likely has very little creative input and while he’s making a living as a touring guitarist it’s far from some over the top extravagant sum. I don’t see how his career is blowing away anyone from the Crowes camp.

Well, it's actually not much different than his career in TBC, except he definitely makes more money with EC

Wouldn’t he make roughly the same per show as a hired gun?

Nah, he makes way more money with Eric Church than he ever did on that one album and tour with the Black Crowes, in every single way.

TBC was an opening act for the majority of Cease's tenure. He probably makes more than $5k per show to be in EC's band.

That number seems insanely high from everything I’ve ever read. 10k per month +travel and a pretty hefty per diem is good money for a hired gun with no long term relationship with the main act.

Cease has been in Church's band for almost a decade now.

cosmicdancer Doin' it to you in 3D! So Groovy that I dig me.

I love Words You Throw Away, but if I had to choose, I'd take Remedy all day, every day.

I'm sure this has been covered before in this thread but ... ATCF doing The Black Crowes songs in standard tuning was just .... off, to my ears. I like Marcus King and Audley Freed as guitarists but it was weird to listen to. I don't mind ATCF tbh...I really don't and it's really good to hear Chris singing Crowes songs again. It's just weird to the ear.
