Only Cliff Claven would back out of his regular gig playing a Pixar pig, to do this movie.

A Christmas Carol (TV movie with George C. Scott)
    A Christmas Story
    National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
    One Magic Christmas
    It's A Wonderful Life

Those are about all I can take when it comes to Christmas movies. I do like Garfield's Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Twas The Night Before Christmas and How The Grinch Stole Christmas animated shows.

I just can't take those Hallmark and Lifetime specials. They are so sugary that they give me diabetes.

Here ya go...Martin Sheen as a CIA agent in Russia, trying to stop Sam Neill's treacherous plot. Real knuckle-biter: taut, gritty, well-written spy yarn...and then...that climax right out of left field-ski (aww, your heart will grow three sizes...!)!

I watch the movies on your list every year except one. I never heard of One Magic Christmas. I searched and see it has been mentioned in past threads and looks like something I would like so just ordered. The reviews on imdb are amusingly one extreme or the other. People either love it or loathe it! Looking forward to seeing g it for myself.

Cliff Claven was the mailman in Cheers, played by the same John Ratzenberger who voiced the pig in Toy Story...and then undoubtedly signed-on to play God in that delightful family film up there, presumably because, "family's gotta eat"...?

Another trivial but interesting fact is that he has voiced a character in every Pixar movie. (At least I think that is still true.)

While I don't think that this movie was well directed or acted, I've always liked the story told in The Fourth Wise Man starring Martin Sheen, Alan Arkin and Eileen Brennan. The ending is amazing. Somehow Martin and Arkin (especially Arkin) don't seem to quite capture their roles. I keep hoping someone will do a re-make of this movie and do a much better job, as it is a good story that deserves to be done better.
