I just finished watching. This a great remaster. Very crisp and clean. And because the audio is essentially left the same I don't feel disoriented by the change from the blurry version I grew up with.

It is free for viewing if you have Amazon Prime. I just watched it again (first time this Christmas season) and it was actually better than I remembered, although I would have liked if they spoke more in period and less like they were modern people.

Did you get a chance to watch it Michael? What did you think?

I think they're going too far with the swearing. There is absolutely no need for that unless you prove to me that Dickens really wrote those F bombs.

I've never seen this, but I remember reading about it when it came out. Charles Bronson had just lost his wife Jill Ireland, and he played a reporter who was struggling after losing his wife and child.

I see it is on HBO this year. Might have to finally check it out.

So far this season, I've watched...

    "Krampus" (2015)
"Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2" (1987)
    and "Better Watch Out" (2016)

...yes, I'm aware that I have questionable taste in Christmas movies.

Though I enjoy watching this any time of year, I always watch it around Christmas time. One of my favorites...

I'll be watching. Guy Pearce as Scrooge and Andy Serkis as Ghost of Christmas Past should be good. Guy Pearce is good in everything he does.

Side Note: Rutger Hauer was supposed to play the Ghost of Christmas Future but was too sick by the time filming started. So, they had to replace him. Rutger died a couple months later.

As long as we're posting movies that aren't usually considered Christmas movies...

I made a point to rent Green Book again and will be watching it this weekend. Sicne it ends on Christmas Eve, I really think of it as a Christmas movie.

Here is the only images I could find that looked Christmasy at all:

What makes a movie a "Christmas" movie is always a debated topic. There is no genre of "Christmas." For me, the movie employs a meaningful use of Christmas in their storytelling. In a full-fledged Christmas movie, some aspect of the season informs our experience of the story in a significant way. Would While You Were Sleeping be the same film if it were not set on around the Christmas season? Definitely not. It adds to the story in so many ways, structuring to the overall narrative, character development, and plot line. Just my 2 cents though and could watch this any time of the year.

Okay, I just finished watching Meghan's Christmas Miracle on Prime and though I enjoyed it, it contained some of the most egregious anachronisms I have ever seen in a movie. The movie contains flashbacks to when Meghan was a little girl. The present day Meghan has been married 21 years according to the dialogue, so she was married in 1998. The young Meghan is 15 at the most, so if she married at 20, the young Meghan scenes are from 1993 at the latest.

Young Meghan loves to surf the internet and she boots up a laptop that is clearly running Windows 10. When she leaves the neighbors home, the neighbor tells her to text her when she gets home.

This did not ruin the movie for me but these elements were not essential to the story and did not need to be in there.:sigh:

Are we supposed to know who Meghan is?

As I said, the movie is Megan's Christmas Miracle. That should be a clue.
