The first piece of news: Lifetime Taps Patti LaBelle, Keshia Knight Pulliam And Tim Reid To Star In 'A New Orleans Noel' - Shadow and Act
Breaking News - Hallmark Channel Announces 2022 "Christmas in July" Lineup Featuring Three All-New Movie Premieres | TheFutonCritic.com
I generally don't watch holiday films (outside of the Rankin/Bass specials), but aren't those Hallmark movies kind of a case of 'You've seen one, you've seen them all?'
That's exactly why people like them I think. You know what you're going to get. I've started to become a fan and watch at least 2-3 new ones a year, but I'm not on board with watching them in July yet!
in the past few years yes...they were not always like that....there are some wonderful Christmas movies.
Just so you guys know, I'm not bashing those movies-It's just a common trope I hear a lot, and was wondering if anyone agreed with it/thought it was true. Other than the aforementioned Rankin/Bass specials, I also like the Charlie Brown Christmas special, and 'Home Alone' (the original), the film 'Will Penny' (a decent chunk of the movie is Christmas themed), 'Gremlins' (wasn't the Mogwai "Gizmo" a Christmas gift? It's been awhile since I seen it...), most incarnations of 'A Christmas Carol', and it's always debated as to whether it's a 'Christmas film' or not, but the original 'Die Hard' is sort of Christmas themed, at least until the action gets rolling.
'Die Hard 2' is Christmas-themed as well. I always get a laugh at the end when after the bad guys take over the airport, kill several people and crash a plane with over 200 people on board, the airport cop tears up the parking ticket he gave McLane at the beginning of the movie and says: " Merry Christmas!" with a big smile like everything is hunky dory now. The reality is there would be an investigation into the whole thing and all the airport security staff would be held accountable and fired.
yes, all well and good...well it is in the movies...life is good cuts are superficial even when ones arm is hanging off...hey it's all in a days work...best laid out in Last Action Hero!
I forget the name. I just know she was a doctor at a clinic there and ended up falling in love with Santa's son. I know it came out a couple years ago. Just did a search and found out it was called Christmas Under Wraps.
