Bing Crosby, White Christmas Original DECCA pressing from the 50's in VG+ condition. Sounds stunning with my Benz Micro ACE - Mono cartridge
Elvis' If Every Day Was Like Christmas There are always some tracks from James Brown's Christmas records [Go Straight To The Ghetto! Soulful Christmas!] Vince's Peanuts Christmas tracks always get a spin The Waitresses! Some Motown A couple years ago I found the Partridge Family Christmas Card album and now we always have at least one listen to David Cassidy's Frosty The Snowman I will always feel nostalgia for Bing's Christmas album because my Mom played it around the holidays when I was little Blue Yule compilation always gets some play And there's always some Louis Armstrong... Along with the traditional choices, I sometimes leave this on in the background: Kmart 1974 In-Store Christmas music, complete with announcements and jingle. It's two hours of instrumentals, so expect to hear Jackie Gleason & his Orchestra, Living Strings, Lawrence Welk and others. But remember: "For your convenience, smoking is permitted in the snack bar area only."
Andy Williams - Merry Christmas The Fab Four - HARK! Foxes and Fossils - Have Yourself a Very Mellow Christmas
Nothing yet, but I shall tune in to Carols from Kings, and over the Christmas period shall listen to Bach's Christmas Oratorio on the various feast days.
Maybe I shouldn't post my own stuff, but here is a Xmas song I wrote and contributed to a charity CD. My wife Wendy sings. Your thoughts on it are welcomed:
Will be listening a great deal to Cliff's new record. It contains Christmas Classics as well as some new songs chosen by Cliff himself. Love it!
Gonna have to check this out. I'm a total sap for cringey movies this time of year. And Henry Winkler NOT as the Fonz? Never fails to make me smile.
We watch it every year. I'm not a huge Hallmark fan (though my wife js), but this is a good one - Henry Winkler's performance is what separates it for me
Michael McDonald - This Christmas Came across this record today by chance. Ordered! Looking forward to hearing it!
My old standbys: Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass - CHRISTMAS ALBUM A&M Artists - ¡SOMETHING FESTIVE! Amy Grant - HOME FOR CHRISTMAS Carpenters - CHRISTMAS PORTRAIT (and their other one too, AN OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS)
My mom played this LP every year. She passed away last fall so every time I play it now it brings back sweet Christmas memories of my mom. It has what is probably my favorite recording of “O Holy Night.” Very simple instrumentation and a sincere vocal.
