Thanks for the tip and your work on the Klein remaster. One of my favorite holiday releases of late! I'll keep an eye out for the CD/LP of Caroling On The Carillon.

As far as other Carillon albums I did find this LP last week in a Christmas bin for $2 and picked it up thinking of the Klein album. Not quite as 'spectacular' as the Klein records, but rather minimal accompanied by strings and vibes which I think are my faves as they add a dark Lynchian/Badalamenti quality to the bells that reflect the album art. Some decent tracks. I'll add it to Xmas LP collection for sure, especially for the price.

Just left the grocery store, where "I'll Be Home for Christmas" was immediately followed by "I'll Be Home for Christmas".

Thinking of writing my congressmen to outlaw broadcasts or performances of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (the other overplayed, overwrought offender covered and belabored endlessly) outside of controlled environments like paid events where their presence will be noted beforehand.

Listening to the new Chicago Christmas album now.

Mostly original songs. Only a couple carol arrangements, and one cover of a song I never associated with Christmas before, "What The World Needs Now Is Love"

I've added a pile of Christmas Albums to my Youtube Music library, mostly based on recommendations here and the albums listed on Wikipedia. Currently adoring both of Herb Alpert's Christmas albums, both the late-60s classic and his beautiful new-to-me release from 2017.

Sounds like the beginning of a new thread: "They're not christmas songs, but they keep showing up, now STOP IT...!"

There is a Julie Andrews CD called Greatest Christmas Songs, which is just a repackaged version of her '60s Christmas album with Andre Previn, but for some reason they tacked on three songs that have nothing to do with Christmas, at the end: "It Might As Well Be Spring," "Falling in Love with Love," and "Cheek to Cheek."

Here's my go-to album lineup for December

    > Handel: Messiah (Trevor Pinnock, The English Concert and Choir, Archiv Produktion 423 630-2). Best sounding recording and best performances that I've found. Love this disc. You can crank it.
    > Pops Christmas Party (Arthur Fielder and the Boston Pops, Living Stereo, RCA Victor 09026-61685-2)
    > A Charlie Brown Christmas - of course!
    > Jingle All the Way - Béla Fleck and the Flecktones. Even has Tuvan throat singing! Great sound, very well recorded.
    > Christmas with the Canadian Brass
    > Three Suites: Duke Ellington. The Nutcracker never sounded so good, and so cool.
    > Home for the Holidays: Eaken Piano Trio (Naxos ‎– 8.554099) Recorded in Mechanics Hall, Worcester, Mass.
    > Christmas with the Cambridge Singers, John Rutter (Collegium Records ‎– COLCD 111)
    > O Come All Ye Faithful: Kings College Choir Cambridge, Stephen Cleobury (Decca/Argo 414 042-2). Another one where you can really crank it!

    Nostalgia fix:
    > Holiday Sing Along with Mitch: Mitch Miller. Yes, you will want to sing along!
    > Now is the Caroling Season: Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians.
    > An Inland Northwest Christmas: The Springbrook Singers, featuring the Entire Collection of Alfred Burt Carols.

Otherworldly choral, especially for Christmas eve or cold quiet nights:
    > Christmas with the Dale Warland Singers (Gothic G-49269). A disc I will never part with!
    > Sing We Christmas - Chanticleer (Teldec 4509-94563-2). Another one you can't pry from my hands!
    > Christmas Carols - Musica Sacra (Deutsche Grammophon ‎429 732-2)
