Netflix description: "For decades, a nice Jewish couple ran Circus of Books, a porn shop and epicenter for gay LA. Their director daughter documents their life and times."
Not great but enjoyable view on a fascinating period encompassing gay liberation, the outrage of the “moral majority”, HIV/AIDS and the demise of physical shops for pornography. Worth a look
I used to work downtown and sometimes I would go up to Millie’s Cafe for lunch/breakfast and stop in at Circus Books because they carried The Absolute Sound. I saw the porn section in the back but I'm so oblivious that I didn't even notice or care it was gay porn.
