    Description du produit
Yes, the adjective powerful came to mind many times when I was listening. Also, few pianists have played this work with such confidence. It's exhilarating to listen to.

    I've got this fine set:

Haven't spun it in awhile. Still catching up on my backlog. I've been listening exclusively to things in my collection that I haven't heard yet and I have only 64 CDs left. (plus the stuff I have ordered online in the last few weeks.) My goal is to get caught up ASAP.

I had a very interesting experience this week with a series of concerts at Davies Hall in San Francisco, The Smith Center in Las Vegas and Disney Hall in L.A.

I not only attended concerts in those halls (twice in Davies) but had the privilidge of sitting in on the rehearsals which allowed me to sit in other seats (of course I looked for the best seats in the house each time)

The differences between halls becomes even more obvious when you get to do this sort of thing. My impressions of Disney Hall and Davies Hall did not change a bit. But the differences were far far bigger than I had really thought before.

Also during the rehearsal I discovered the "god" seat at Disney Hall for a piano concerto. Row DD seat 154. It is the best view I have ever had of the piano and the best sound I have ever heard from a piano and/or from an orchestra. It is the "God" seat. I suspect it may be the single best seat in any concert hall in the world for a piano concerto.

    What a fun week.

Funny, I have sat in that exact seat (and those to the direct left) and I agree. I have long preferred DD, whenever possible. The fact that you can sit that close and see everything so perfectly, and still have the best sound is truly amazing.

Thanks George. Finally got the power back around 12 noon today. This was the longest power loss I have ever had - 114 hours or close to 5 full days ... :realmad::sigh:

I'll have to keep an eye out for that Celestial Harmony release. Though I have to say - that Anonymous 4 record sure looks cool!

Jim, Sounds like you are fine. I was wondering how your area would fare when I heard Sandy was moving inland to NY and PA ...

I am fine after having survived without power for close to 5 days and my wife will check with our heating oil/propane supplier on a LP (liquid propane) generator on Monday to avoid repeating this lousy experience down the road. It appears we can see more and more of these storms.

Glad you and everyone on our thread from down that way made it thru ok.
We dodged the bullet here! Lotta wind....not a lotta rain.
Had some tense moments as I have a 100+yr old Oak across the street from my house.
House is like 40ft from the base of this monster and it's on another persons property.
All the leaves all came off JUST before the storm came so that was a relief for sure.
If it comes down it WILL flatten my house no doubt about it.
We get a lotta wind I get REAL nervous!!

Got a link? The CD set I posted avove is the preludes, but live. I've read that none of her studio recordings really show the true depth of her art.

You mean a link to a cd? No, I have it on a VOX LP. I don't think that this has been released on digital but I am not 100% positive.
Also I have Chopin's Complete Waltzes with her. Most of her recordings for VOX are very easy to find through EBay and they are not expensive at all.
I think she was an incredible pianist and I just need to get more of her.

Ah, I figured (after asking) that yours was an LP.
