But George also has been aggressively selling off duplicate CD's to free up space. I do not ever sell my CD's or my stereo components. I did give my Kenwood integrated amp to Salvation army and got a tax write-off.

Order #2 from MDT finally arrived today. All baroque. :righton:
George, I will let you know what I think about Tatiana Nikolayeva's playing. She was supposed to be the foremost piano virtuoso for Bach keyboard works from the former Soviet Union ...

When you put it that way, it's actually cheap. It's $168.49 for the 33 CD set delivered. I have paid more than that for just two (used) DCC CDs before.

The standard shipping for a single CD or a CD-set from an Amazon MarketPlace vendor is $2.98. But I have never bought more than one item per order. I imagine it may be $2.98 per item for multiple items in the same order, which is a lot more expensive than what MDT will be charging you for this set. But then you may just pay the same $2.98 but overpay for the set by at least $100. You can't win ...

George, This shipping charge of $35 for the Celi set is kind of strange. I was charged almost £25 for the 60-CD Harnoncourt's Bach Complete Cantatas set plus 3 other single CD's. Assuming an exchange rate of £1=$1.50, which works out to about $38. But my order also has twice as many CD's. I just do not understand MDT's shipping charge ...

The Celi is in jewel cases, so I imagine it's pretty heavy. Paper/cardboard sleeves are surely cheaper to ship.

Well, each fat boy CD-case can hold up to 4 CD's. The 33 CD's would come in 9 of these fat boy CD-cases. I am perfectly fine with these paper-sleeves that came with the 18-CD Vivaldi's set ...

I think it's in single CD jewel cases, the picture seems to suggest so. I prefer paper sleeves these days as they save more space.

If you are talking about the regular single-CD jewel case and not the slim jewel case, you will get a heavy package for sure. But that is a very unusual way of packaging multi-CD sets these days. My 6-CD Mendelssohn Complete Piano Works set come in 2 of these fat boys. One box was crushed and I had to quickly order 10 of these fat boys from Sleeves City.

BTW, the EMI's package on HvK must have hundreds of CD's. I wonder what MDT is charging for that set?

My new Simon Rattle Mahler 9 should not be too far away now. Time for a refresher on the competition it has to beat. Now playing (recorded 1996):
