    Daniele Gatti has just been appointed as chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Mariss Jansons is resigning in 2015; Gatti will succeed him in 2016.

    That is, unfortunately, a stigma that is hard to live down! I suggest listening to some Bach transcriptions, particularly the solo Violin Sonatas and Partitas. Baroque music in general seems to adapt well to the classical guitar.
