I believe this LP box was remastered and is now available in the following 4-CD box, which I added to my collection a few years ago ...

The press quality is not bad. Desmar Records? I have never heard of this label and have no clue as to what prompted me to buy this LP years ago ...

Last evening in my music theory class we discussed the whole note scale, so this evening - Boulez conducting Debussy. Starting with "Nocturnes."

Desmar was a small but, I think, respected classical label focusing on off-the-beaten path fare--my impression being that it was primarily focused on piano literature. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, Desmar had a hookup with the International Piano Archives, now housed at the University of Maryland. I have a handful of the things, which feature artists like John Lill, Radu Lupu, Jean Marie Darre, Garrick Ohlsson, and Gina Bachauer.

    Thanks for the insight.

According to the LP jacket, Desmar Records was located at St. Luke's Place, right in the same zip code zone in NYC Greenwich Village where one of my sisters lives. I have only heard of St. Mark's Place, where there was a huge gas line explosion recently but St. Luke's Place is a total unknown to me ...
