It's released by Documents/Membran, a European public-domain label that has no access to the original sources that are now owned by Warner Music.

Given their track record and the fact that it's the same size at the fairly recent EMI box, I'd bet they just copied the EMI discs.

Hopefully, the SQ is no worse than the EMI box, as I do not see myself shelling out the kind asking price on Amazon ... :agree:

Beautiful and strong dynamics...usually I am finding these Glossa CD's a tad distant andmellow in sound...but NOT this one...Maybe it is just the Moreno CD's/

I have a good number of these Glossa CD's. They are mostly early and some baroque works ...

I have a disc of Junghanel playing Weiss on the Accent label. I wonder if it's the same.

I see that the New York City Ballet orchestra is going to have a new musical director next year - Andrew Litton. I don't believe I have any recordings by him. Any comments?

I have heard of the name but cannot associate an orchestra with him offhand ...

Bergen and Dallas primarily. Also the Colorado Symphony (with which my brother's band plays rock and roll - as a fundraising event).
He has quite a few recordings. He seems to do especially well with Stravinsky, Ives and Mahler according to ClassicsToday.

Edit - ClassicsToday also called his cycle of the Rachmaninoff concertos with Steven Hough the best ever.

    Thrilling playing--adequate 1960s mono sound.

I don't like it at all. For a modern set, Rudy/Jansons is much better.

I wish Janis did a full set. He did 1, 2 and 3 for Mercury (1 and 3 again for RCA) and the Paganini Variations for EMI video. Never did 4.
