Can the standard CD laser lens cleaner discs available now be used to clean the lens on an SACD player? Thanks in advance for any comments. :)

    Yes.

But honestly unless your room is excessively dusty or smoky, you shouldn't need to do this more than once a year.

I have never cleaned my CD players lenses. Don't see why I'd neeed to - everything sounds fine.

On the other hand, I know someone who picked up a Denon CD player, used, for $75.00. It looked like it was playing, but no sound. He cleaned the lens and - volia! - a $950.00 CD player for $75.00.

This never, ever happens to me.......... :(

Thanks for the responses. I am not one to excessively clean my laser lens, but, as Gary pointed out about the Dennon player, I have had an instance with my old player where it was playing my CDs with a crackling noise - digital distortion I presume - or not playing them at all and the problem was solved by using a lens cleaner. That is when I started using them. I only use it every couple of months or so.
