Country Music Association set I caught an infomercial about on TV early today. From Time-Life

The ad featured lots of interesting performances.

Anyone else noticed this?

When I Google it, I see it goes back to 2015, 2017.

A few not-great reviews:

actual songs took up very little time ..too much talking rather than having the time to listen to music. We were very disappointed in the set. The first and second disks were pretty good but the rest were full of talk and too little of actual singing for each year. The CMA is held yearly but the set skipped many good years and only had one song for those that were recognized.

While I enjoyed what segments of the CMA awards they showed for each year they were very brief. Each year's program was too short and rather than show all the credits they run run at the end of the program could have been used for more performances. When they said "highlights" of each year that's exactly what they meant.

Hardly worth the price! 2-3 songs and then minutes of boiler-plate acknowledgements of everyone that ever visited Nashville clear down to teh Toyota Dealer.

Amazon reviews on this set (also sold separately) are better:

Each DVD only contains 15 performances but these are the best. The intro to each DVD also contains little Gems around the history of the songs. For instance Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" is her farewell to Porter Waggoner when she left his show to go solo. It is also nice to note the lack of the glitzy "western" costumes on most performers and Willy Nelson in a suit and tie indescribable.

Mostly:

I was somewhat disappointed that there was so little of the original show and that TIME-LIFE left out so many of the original stars of the show. I also felt that with only 15 performances on each disc, they could have put the entire series on one disc and sold it for a more reasonable price. I would advise buyers to research and locate the package that includes full episodes of the show and one that offers a more complete collection of the GRAND OL OPRY. I did enjoy what there was to watch but I hardly think that it was worth what TIME-LIFE charges for it.
