    They are great, but anytime you wanna redo these for SACD, Steve, I'll be glad to give my old DCCs to my friends. :D

    Yeah, this album really proved to me that Coltrane could nail a ballad as well (if not better) than anyone else ever could. The title track is worth the price of admission alone.

    But THE Coltrane album that needs a reworking has to be A Love Supreme. I'm not convinced that the versions out there now are the best that can be done with those tapes. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm obsessed. But I'd love to hear a definitive vinyl version of it (not that noisy heavy vinyl from the mid 90's, thanks!).
     
  6. Verve is releasing several SACDs on May 7th: John Coltrane,"A Love Supreme", Diana Krall,"The Look Of Love", Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong(self-titled),Stan Getz/Joao Gilberto,"Getz/Gilberto" and one other that I can't remember. I wonder what these are going to sound like.:cool:
