    Rest easy, Mr. Belzer.

A true legend. He certainly did not go gentle into that good night.

Have been a fan since The Groove Tube.
Loved his early SNL bit about Dylan at age 80 — "how does it feel, Mr. Big Shot?" (Sorry, couldn't find it online.)
Det. Munch was mentioned a few times in this week's episode of L&OSVU.
    RIP, Belz. :tiphat:

Not that I believe in this stuff but if I did…I would think Lou Reed was waiting for him up there somewhere.

Fun fact: Belzer and Henry Winkler were first cousins.

Louie Anderson and now Beltzer.....any hope of a WRONG GUYS 2 is history now!

The main Beltzer memory I have is listening to Howard and Gilbert CONSTANTLY ripping on him back in the day, even though they were obviously cohorts. Always good for a laugh.

RIP. I first saw him as a comedian on a regular show on Cinemax around 1984 or so, so I've always viewed him as a comedian first. Then when he went into acting it was cool he was branching out.

He was great in everything I saw him in.

He was a perfect match with Christopher Walken. They should have had a series together.

His Dick Ballentine character on National Lampoon's "That's Not Funny, That's Sick" album is one of my favorites.
R.I.P. Mr. Belzer and thanks for the years of laughter.

  25. A good comic, who turned into a good actor, and we sort of forgot how good of a comic he was.
