That's upwards of £40 with shipping. One of my all time favourite live albums, and I love surround, but not sure I can push the boat out that far...

Good question. Usually as far as I can push it without setting off an alert on the shared credit card. :) Seriously, I just paid this much for Jeffrey Foucault's Blood Brothers on vinyl (stupid shipping costs to UK) but I've already splashed on that and The Band 50th box so I think I have reached the end of "buy your own Xmas present" privileges too...

Ya know what I do - and need to do more often - which is easier living in the states - is to take an old LP set or something and list it in the classifieds to gets some cash flow going - so I can purchase something I wanted but don’t really need but I might need.

As time goes by more and more things in my collection become things I can part with. Either I know I didn’t need to hear it again or I have a additional different version on CD or HDtracks, etc.

I just roped in $62 last month and I need to do that again soon.

The Band deluxe set is very much on my mind as well. I’m going to have to hold off on that until Amazon has a sale, then when I get it, sell off parts of it to break even with keeping the BluRay of some kind of wheelin’ n dealin’ type of scenario.

Bitches Brew is a really nice sounding quad mix, and the mastering sounds very analoguey. I’d expect nothing less from Live Evil. It doesn’t hurt that the artwork design on both of these gatefold jackets is stellar as it gets too.

Doesn't specifically say it's a Quad. "Multi Hybrid Edition"-whatever that means.

On the artwork for the listing on the CD Japan site, the album cover has the little SQ quad logo in the top left hand corner.

That's exactly how I recycle my funds for this hobby. Why hold on to what you don't listen to anymore. Let someone else enjoy it and expand your horizons at the same time. :righton:

Illustrious forum members, I really can't begin to tell you just how stoked to the max I am that Live Evil (my favorite Davis album) is getting the hybrid SACD Quad treatment from our fine friends in Japan.

I'm still holding out for one day a domestic release of this and the BB sacd quad mixes. Altogether too much money for a single disc.
