Yeah...There was one posted on a "used-stuff" site in Winnipeg a few years back and I was certainly tempted but the stories I've heard about troubles with the turntable and the asking price of $2,000 prevented me from pulling the trigger on not much more than an art-piece.

I read it's a Sota Comet III. Wasn't sure, though. Thanks!

  10. The Marantz is a tuner only, not a receiver.

8-track cartridge player on top of the NAD CD player may be a Superscope?
    Pretty sure that the cassette recorder/player is a Nak. A low-end late 1980s model, like a 150.
Notice the tube power amp of some sort at the far right top shelf.
The black-face box is hard to guess- could be either a preamp or integrated amp, likely 1980s. Could be Pioneer Elite, Marantz, Revox, Sansui, or ???

I read that the monitor speakers are Klipsch.

  12. Speakers are small Advents. TT a Garrard, maybe. I had a lot of guesses about the amp. Browsed eBay, nothing yet. Grommes, maybe. Or an early Crown.

You are correct. It's a Sansui AU series integrated amp probably from the 70s.

  15. Yes. Judging from ~Bay, it's an AU-7700, from the mid 1970s.

True. They were made by Hermon Hosmer Scott, who got together after hours with Avery Fisher to drink, arm-wrestle, and argue about who made the best sounding amplifiers.

Turntable (I believe it is a Pioneer, but may be mistaken) and Marantz Receiver (may be the Marantz model 2238B) used in Gremlins

Watching Polanski's "Carnage" last night, I couldn't stop looking at the bookshelf system in the apartment. Anyone recognize the components?

I saw that NAD CD player recently at Value Village for $15.00. I put in a disc to test it and it couldn't read it.

I don't know if was mentioned, so I will ask.
Does anyone know what the reel to reel system is in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo?
It's in the main bad/evil character of the movie, his house on the property.
It's shown maybe twice, towards the end of the movie when he has Daniel Craig hostage.
Cool/high end system is what I always say when watching it with someone.

    Cheers
