Good morning, WORM YOUR HONOR! The crown will plainly show THE PRISONER who now stands before you Was caught red-handed... showing FEELINGS! Showing FEELINGS Of an almost human nature... This will not do. Call the schoolmaster! This is great.
Stone Temple Pilots - "My Second Album" from Purple. Although it's technically a hidden track (even though they state 12 tracks on an album that lists only 11), it's still a "crazy", comedic closer. It was a track sung by Richard Peterson in the style of Johnny Mathis from HIS second album in 1985!!! I just thought of this one this morning - the original hit album ends with the instrumental "Sailor's Hornpipe" (aka the Popeye theme song). For such a magical, varied and brilliant album - to take the piss out of it at the end works brilliantly. Great choice.
Closing an album whose showcase track features an AI, world destruction and advanced musical structure and synth tech….
Actually Smiley ends with one of the more “normal” sounding songs, the chant “Whistle In”, strangely enough, so it might not actually qualify for this thread
There's also 'Disgustipated', the secret final track of Tool's 'Undertow' album. It features the members attacking a poor, defenceless upright piano with sledgehammers. What a bunch of tools!
