Always considered it more of Cry Baby Cry, not sure where the official dividing line is. :)

I seem to remember that John tried to blame "Cry Baby Cry" on Paul in the 1980 interviews. Is that accurate?

He said it was Paul, I always got the feeling that the song just slipped his mind at the moment.

In the Playboy interview, John said: "Not me. A piece of rubbish." But I think he got confused about what song he was being asked about. He's calls other songs that he wrote as "rubbish", so he wasn't afraid of putting himself down. But in this case, he likely didn't realize what song was being discussed. Arnie .

I thought that too. CBC fads out completely before CYTMB starts.

CYTMB falls into the same category as "Dig it" (a small snippet of a longer unreleased recording) , except it was an "uncredited song".

I always thought misheard lyrics were funny, and of course I never misheard lyrics :) but for my whole life until probably a year ago I thought the lyrics to this were "Can you take me back/We're a people/Can you take me back?" It's like a weird revelation :)

Not listed on it by name, the timings (3:11 for CBC, 8:15 for Rev9) would seem
to indicate it was considered part of Cry Baby Cry!
So there, Steve! The title of this thread is appropriate after all! :agree:
