Change that last word for "chuckling" and you're right. Try not to get so easily triggered next time, to the degree of PM'ing me about this.

After reading the comments here, I lowered my expectations & was pleasantly surprised.
Yes, he pushed the limit just a bit due to his age in some scenes. It was still cool to see that he could still be cantankerous when needed & he could still call someone an a**hole with the same delivery as decades earlier.

It's a low key but enjoyable movie & if it's his last then it's ok with me.

Yeah, that scene with him on the wild horse is absurd. I almost yelled bullsh*t as soon as it started.:laugh:

Sad if this is his last film. It's like one of those awful 1970s TV movies. Maybe if he'd been 75 it could have worked.

I really enjoyed this film. But you have to give it more than 30 minutes! It’s a film about relationships and trust, and you have to give it time to reveal itself. I thought Clint was great, and the weakest thing about the film is that no one else in the cast came close to him, acting-wise, although I did eventually warm up to the boy. As for Clint’s age, it was never specified how old Mike was supposed to be, and as far as I’m concerned, Clint was an actor playing a role, and his age only seemed truly wrong one time: when he was breaking the wild horse. But that scene didn’t ruin the film for me. Clint is still Clint. He can be tough, funny, gentle, and most importantly, so very natural on camera.

Not the story, but the feeling that it's a dumb vehicle for a star who should be in something better. Take your pick
e.g. Streets of LA or True Grit: a Further Adventure or How Awful About Allan

Been a fan for a long time but, for me, Clint has made his 1st bad film. Really bad. Although I still think he's capable of making something special! Just better do it fast!

Loved Gran Torino, but thought "Mule" was kinda ridiculous. On the fence about watching this one...and I can view it on HBOmax easily enough. Currently binge-watching Treme, I had never seen the series. Probably give Macho a try when I finish.

Admittedly yes. I will rectify this error based on the opinions on this thread.

He's done a lot of the "I'm older and don't have patience for your youngsters" type of roles...for decades. In the Line of Fire--he played an aging secret service agent schooling the new generation, and that was nearly 30 years ago.

"Richard Jewell" is a watchable movie but it veers too much toward propaganda for my liking - very one-sided.

    Richard Jewell [Blu-Ray] (2019)

That's surprising considering Yokam held his own and then some as an abusive boyfriend on Sling Blade, a jaw dropping performance that came out of no where. Didn't know he had it in him considering he's just a country and western singer.

I just might go see Cry Macho just to see how bad Yokam is.

I don't know if it's the worst Eastwood film of all time but it's way up there! Hopefully just a fluke.

Gave it a second viewing last night. It's definitely better when you know what to expect.

Might give it a try in a theater this weekend. I'm guessing a lot of the cinematography is lost on HBO Max.

I'll pass on this one, Clint's about 40 years too old for the part, time to retire.

Even a Clint Eastwood thread has to have a Beatles reference.

Yokam was really good in Sling Blade. Not the same caliber of performance in Cry Macho. I'm not sure what happened.
