I stumbled across this last night and couldn’t believe I’d never saw it before!

I’m in 2 minds on what I think of the video...what’s everyone else’s thoughts?

IMO, Sorry...a disaster like the album.

To be kind, it is a product of it's time. To be unkind, it stinks. :)

Never seen that before either.Supremely silly but a bit of fun.

Song's great though. Should have been a smash. Love the album too.

I thought I’d was fun. Neils great in it...all his 80s videos are pretty great. David and Stephen were good too...not sure I liked seeing Graham in the buff mind you! Great song and album

It's great. They have a laugh and cast themselves well. Last thing we needed was a preachy, oh-so serious video from them.

This may be one of the worst songs I have in my record collection.....

Love the video and the song! The best part is when Neil plays a demented heavy metal rocker and scares Nash! Love the grungy guitars.

Love the album too... Have to admit I avoided it initially in my discovery of all things CSN&Y.

Then I went to a gig (it was Jake Clemons now of E-Street fame) and the album was played in full through the sound system while we waited for him to come on stage. I was amazed how good it sounded, and instantly became a fan!

cornball neil is one of his more lasting personas. i do like him as a metal head here.

here's a live version if you want to hear the song without the awful production.

This video is genius, and if you were around back when it came out, you'll note that the video blends symbolism with what was happening at the time, with Nash portraying 'a politician' in the bedroom scene as Neil busts in, representing his guilty conscience/nightmare.
It's deeper than you might expect, helps to get your mind right before viewing.

The album did pretty well, at least according to Wikipedia. 1 8oo ooo worldwide sales and the biggest album any of them were involved with during the Eighties.

Candidate for best album of 1988, I reckon.

Just a fun comment on celebrity and corruption
How do you feel about the rest of the album? I actively dislike about a 3rd of the album, but this isn't one of those tracks.

I find the production to be pretty organic as the 80s went. I guess if you hate the synth flute lick, I could see hating the arrangement.

    Nice.

A very different arrangement (he said, stating the bleedin' obvious! :)) but still enjoyable.

Still prefer the original though, having lived with the original for thirty years or so. Familiarity breeds content. :)

I quite enjoyed it. This is much worse. I'm not sure if this is official or not tho.
