And it is indeed the 12" remix version, clocking in at 5' 41".
4 War child albums are to be released on streaming and vinyl for the first time featuring contributions from artists such as Beck, Oasis, Paul Weller and Paul McCartney. Untitled
These are definitely worth checking out! Here’s Paul’s version of Calico Skies recorded around 2003: https://open.spotify.com/track/1OCgU9cCsiMccRGYb1M7vV?si=gqRlYRU0Tkm53hLEhry3Wg&dl_branch=1
Just heard that Calico Skies - I love it.
Seems that's a studio version of the live version of that song, with the military style snare drum. Lovely.
For those who do not have Spotify...
I just discovered "Girls School" is streaming on Spotify and I can access from the US. Part of expanded edition London Town (1993 Edition). One of his best rockers - I love this song.
Very cool. Helps carry on the music to current generation.
Great rock'n'roll track from Macca which he pulls out whenever he needs one. Other examples would be Get Out of My Way (from Off the Ground), Move Over Busker (Press to Play), Ballroom Dancing (Tug of War), Keep Undercover (Pipes of Peace), Mrs Vandebilt (Band on The Run).
I'm sorry but I wouldn't call any of those "great rock 'n' roll." Some of those tracks are great. Some could be considered rock 'n' roll. And some of them should be kept undercover.
Has this not been mentioned yet? An online live interview to accompany/promote the Lyrics book.
NOTE: it’s not free!
The Lyrics: Paul McCartney in Conversation
I don't think it has been mentioned yet.
But, I think I have mentioned before... the title, The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present is outdated already. It's actually "1956 to 2020", unless they are including the Idris Elba lyrics, in which case it's "1956 to 2021" and will be outdated in a few months...
2020 counts as part of Paul's ever present past.
It also says it will be streamed...

Edit: Oh. You have to buy ticket to stream... I didn't see that at first..
Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to try and get tickets tomorrow. Let's see if I'm successful!
Good luck! I sure hope you’re successful. Would be cool to have an SHF-er in there, especially if they query the audience for questions. I have no doubt you’d come up with a good, unique question if you had the chance!
Thanks! I will be in my seventh heaven if I manage it! I will definitely have a question planned for just-in-case.
Good luck to both of us then!
"Hi Paul. Did you play the drums on Old Brown Shoe? ... What do you mean that you can't remember? Smoke too much English tea that day, ehh?"
As they escort you out of the building....
My question (if I get one)...
Hi Paul! Do you remember my Mum 'cos she said you're my Dad?
[Paul exits stage left at speed, into a taxi, and off into the London night].
How did you come with Yesterday?
Or more critically: What was Oklahoma never like?
Are you both Southbank members?
Not me. It's pre-sale at 10:00am and general sale at 11:00am.
General sale is Friday 10am per the email I had.
For real? Oh, I was told Thursday 11am by a friend. Some friend HE turned out to be!
Yeah, that is some friendly.
