Jonas Brother final concert? One can only hope. I'm sure it will be right up there with the Beatles rooftop concert!
I sadly have a Jonas Brother story. We went on the Royal Caribbean solar eclipse cruise where they sailed the ship out in the middle of the ocean directly under the path of totality. A total solar eclipse is truly one of the most amazing experiences one can behold. Anyway, one of the J Bros has his own band. Dense or something like that. So anyway they were the band on the ship playing a brief set and then backed Bonnie Tyler as she sang Total Eclipse Of The Heart. There's a youtube video of it. They flew her in from Dubai where she was touring. Who in Dubai wants to hear Bonnie Tyler !? So after the eclipse was all said and done, these people are of course stuck on the ship and we ended up somehow at the J Bros after party in the champagne bar. Their security wouldn't let anyone even look at them though. Later Bonnie Tyler walked right by us at the sushi bar. Here are my eclipse photos over on the SHMF photo thread. https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/thre...us-what-cha-got.909424/page-216#post-22828582
It's a "special appearance" so, technically, there is no guarantee he will even play/sing anything... [but the odds are good! ]
Please stop referencing things that aren't cartoons made for little kids it's making me want another archive edition.
Who knows, since he's had this unexpected break from what was a gruelling touring schedule, maybe his voice will sound a little better. But I just hope people go with open minds - he seems to get a ridicuously hard-to-please set of followers these days. I was looking at one of Matt Williamson's recent Pop Goes The 60s YouTube videos, and, although he's usually refreshingly measured in his treatment of topics, he seemed remarkably eager this time to sneer about the man - implying that his pause in shows to take in the atmosphere was some kind of megalomaniac pose, and moaning that 'he always seems to be making himself available...he's always lurking around in the background doing something...like...riding his bike or riding the metro...' (I think that's called living a life, Matt - would you prefer him to be more like Jagger, chasing young women and sucking up to various aristocrats??). I hope the guy just gets an audience that is pleased to be there.
Yes, it gets ridiculous. I feel like Paul lived a decade somewhat in fear and seclusion after John's murder, and since then has been trying to make up for lost time with touring and just being more free in being in public. It's refreshing and how can you not love Paul for his way of living. Peronaly were I Paul I would be touring less and recording more, but it's his life not mine. Though I do want that often mentioned Christmas album, Paul!!!!
Girl's School is finally available on Spotify. A hint to a London Town/BTTE archive collection perhaps?
Until we do get that Paul Christmas album, here is a Beatles Christmas/Winter themed playlist I put together that flows pretty well. The Beatles - Christmas Album a Playlist on Spotify by Dr. Pepper. Woo Hoo! That's a surprise, last piece of news I remember seeing is that it was on the verge of being cancelled -that after years and years it was still in storyboard stage. This is excellent news.
I wouldn't necessarily get too excited. Pretty much anyone can edit IMDb and that poster doesn't look official at all to my eyes.
No release date or details, but at least the animation film is still listed on the Netflix site as a future title. So it still exists: https://www.netflix.com/title/81228765
From You Gave Me The Answer - Reimagining Songs "PMC.com: Have you considered writing songs for other artists again, in the same way you did in the sixties for artists like Mary Hopkin, Billy J. Kramer, and Peter and Gordon? Paul: The truth is that I have been doing that with two big projects that I have on: with the animation feature film High in the Clouds which is in production, and with the musical It’s A Wonderful Life. I’ve demoed songs for both those projects, but they won’t be sung by me. Maybe they’ll find a way to work in my version in the end credits, or something, but generally it’ll be the characters in the plays and films performing those songs. So, whoever plays George Bailey in It’s A Wonderful Life will sing the songs I’ve written for him. So, that’s kind of my modern equivalent of writing for Billy J. Kramer or for Peter and Gordon… but it’s morphed into more than that. I’m writing a lot of songs for each project which are all going to be sung by lots of different people. I can’t wait to hear that!"
Gawd, I wish he'd left It's a Wonderful Life well alone. Bill Kenwright might be an old school acquaintance, but he's the Broadway Danny Rose of UK provincial theatre tours.
