Something to do with a dream (hence "preview") he had involving a church he new called St. Dominic's. At least, that's what I read somewhere once
A couple of links on this always-fun topic; one is an article, the other, a website: http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/album-sleeves-in-their-original-locations http://www.popspotsnyc.com
Haven't checked in to this thread lately but man, this subject never gets stale. I gotta go find some more!
Okay. But if the entire house has been remodeled, what difference does it make if it's the back or the front? I never said which side of the house was used for the photo, I only mentioned that you can pull the house up on Google Maps.
Snapped a few photos on the walk back from work today. They are actually walking in the direction of the Hungry i. Only a half a block away. Photos taken at the corner of Kearny and Broadway in North Beach. Chinatown, 133 Waverly Place.
The Tumbleweed Connection comments earlier in this thread has prompted me to scan the attached photos, taken in September 1973: Every sign has been moved around or replaced. So we may never know if the 'CAMP Coffee' sign was simply out of shot back in 1970...
It's Horsted Keynes, on the Bluebell Railway, in West Sussex, England. It features in just about every TV and movie costume drama filmed in the UK ever. I'm going to be driving past it in about two hours, on my way to visit some relatives. See this link for a potted history of the station and the rail line.
I prefer the good old days when Horsted Keynes was in an undivided Sussex (as it was when the 1970 and 1973 pictures were taken). And I trust the bluebells are out this weekend. Have a good one!
A small correction: my brother (the one sitting in Elton's spot) has just reminded me that the location is Sheffield Park station, not Horsted Keynes.
Siren by Roxy Music. The famous Jerry Hall photo was taken at South Stack Lighthouse in Anglesey North Wales. They went to great lengths from idea and conception to the final click of the shutter.
Yes!! I was there two years ago. It looks way smaller than the Lp shot. It's a few blocks from the Astor Place subway station.
On the same block that the Stones shot their Waiting On A Friend video. I believe the scene where Mick and Keith are on the stoop with Peter Tosh is the PG building.
