Saint Etienne's So Tough, then: and a couple of years ago (sans infant Sarah Cracknell): Taken on the riverbank in Windsor. The River Thames is immediately behind the photographer.
Since this is my favorite thread of all time......just a friendly bump. Sad to see that many of the images are no longer active links.

Hi guys / gals new in this forum, I'm trying to find and compile record cover photos in a list. A few from this tread, others from the Bob Egan amazing site, and from different cover detectives. Also trying to find by myself. Well, about "Surfer Rosa" by Pixies front cover photo was taken in the upstairs function room of a pub in South West London, in front of 4AD office. There is a restaurant near: East Hill Restaurant (21 Alma Rd), checkin the internet, this local has been used under different names, etc... It needs checking about if it is the place of the shooting. Shooting date: end 87-early88. (Nothing from 4AD BTW)
A new cover photo I tying to find out is "Astral Weeks" by Van Morrison, seems the image was taken in Woodstock, NY in 1968 by Joel Brodsky, Does anyone know the place of the photoshoot? I've found other images with the pale blue shirt, seem to be taken in the same session. Thanks
Sleeve image from "Muscle of Love" by Alice Cooper found: 6671 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA behind Crossroads of the World complex Google Maps
Front cover photo of "High Priest" (1987) by Alex Chilton taken in Rock River, WY, USA Google Maps The wooden church was sold and moved to Territorial Prison Site complex in 2002. Three miles north actress Judy Tayler died in a car accident (7-3-1957) The small house on the left was priest's home.
The real location of the cover shot from Led Zeppelin "4" as it looks now How the Led Zeppelin IV album cover would look it was made today Not Eve Hill in Dudley as originally thought, but matches up extremely well with Salisbury Tower, nr Tesco, Hockley. Just outside of the western ring road. This tallies up with some detective work done by a poster on the Zep forums Led Zeppelin IV photo location - mystery solved
I'm trying to find where was taken the photo of Forever Changes' back cover. According with the internet it was on the dock of Arthur Lee's house somewhere in Laurel Canyon, maybe Lookout Mountain av, Mulholland Drive or near.Photo by Ronnie Haran. Any idea? Thanks
Don't think I've posted this before, but a few years ago I visited Slaughterhouse Falls, the spot on the Roaring Fork River (near Aspen, Colorado) where the cover for "Rocky Mountain High" was shot. The river was very low when I visited and I didn't replicate the photographer's angle as closely I'd hoped...
I was just listening to this album this morning and wondering where the cover shot was taken. This saves me a bunch of internet search time. Guess I'll have to do actual work instead.
I grew up in that area, and I can confirm that major sections of the Antelope Valley Freeway interchange with the Golden State Freeway (I-5) did indeed collapse during the '71 San Fernando quake.
