Also noticed a Sons of the Pioneers 5 disc digital anthology (1942-1952), seems like it could have been part of the Bear Family release from the early 1990's. The metadata for the file is mispelled though, as Sons of the Pionneers. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X4ZWF3M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_d_asin_title_o07?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Big Brother & The Holding Company had a major question to answer after Joplin left the group, just months after Cheap Thrills topped the Billboard 200. Sam Andrew, Peter Albin, James Gurley and David Getz ended up adding several new members into the fold: a third guitarist, David Schallock, and two singers: backing vocalist Kathi McDonald (who lent the album some Joplin-esque grit) and former Electric Flag frontman Nick Gravenites. Released several months after Joplin’s tragic passing,Be a Brother didn’t attract much attention upon original release, but fans of the group’s brand of blues (apart from Janis’ iconic vocals) will find this worth the rediscovery. Music For Soulful Lovers, the second of the two albums credited to Cecil Holmes Soulful Sounds, plays like a Percy Faith album for the Soul Train set, with covers of R&B hits like “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life,” “Killing Me Softly With His Song,” “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” and more. Shout out to @Scott Davies who reissued this title on CD recently on his Rubellan Remasters label with excellent mastering. It's a great album!
Well, I guess it's good they at least held it back from streaming for more than a year. CD is still available for anyone interested, along with the original prequel, Lucifer 'Black Mass'. https://www.rubellanremasters.com/online-store
Oh, it didn't hurt anything for you to point it out. But it wasn't nice of Sony (the culprit here) to cut his window of exclusivity short.
I had no idea about this but not much I can do. I pay the license and do the remastering and then they stick it up on streaming services. With a couple of my other titles the labels did similar but very soon after my CD release, which pissed me off and detracted from sales. With my upcoming Passions CD reissue I asked if they would hold it back from streaming and download for a while, and they agreed. I think this should be part of the agreements because it's pretty damn rude that a third party pays licensing and remastering and the label instantly takes sales away from them when they weren't going to do anything with the material anyway. Shouldn't I get a residual for my remastering if they are going to put it on various platforms and earn money from it? No one asked me if they could use my work, and they certainly never paid me for it. I've had some people tell me the only reason they bought my Garson CD's was because they weren't on streaming.
Yeah, for dusty corner reissues (like the Garson stuff), it's pretty critical that there isn't a legit streaming option for a while so you can recoup the mandatory minimum buy from the label and all your ancillary costs. If only a few hundred people are sated by the streaming option, that can mean the difference between a win and a loss.
Looks like Amazon changed their search functions again. The Recently Added in the Last 30 Days choice is gone, with the exception of Prime, which doesn't always get you what you want.

How Hard It Iskept the core original band (singer/guitarist Sam Andrew, bassist James Gurley, multi-instrumentalist Peter Albin and drummer David Getz) alongside second guitarist David Schallock (who’d joined for Be a Brother) and a rotating cast of guest vocalists, including former Electric Flag frontman Nick Gravenites, almost-Joplin-soundalike Kathi McDonald and journeyman Hammond organist Mike Finnegan. Like the last record, the public wasn’t ready to accept a Janis-less group (especially after her death a year prior), and despite some moments of blues inspiration, it proved to be the group’s last studio effort. In 1969, the Strings took on one of country music’s reigning queens: Loretta Lynn, with an album that featured versions of “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ On Your Mind),” “You Ain’t Woman Enough” and others from her fiery catalog. That same year, Columbia Records did a similar album of more Nashville hits, including orchestral versions of “I Walk The Line,” “Stand By Your Man,” “Wichita Lineman” and more. Taken together, these albums make this week a countrypolitan celebration! As the bonus tracks from a gig at London’s Marquee Club attest, they were indeed quite the draw! Metal fans will do well to check out this one, featuring killer cuts like “Burned By Love” and “End Of The Line.” The Hardy Boys Here Come The Hardy Boys (RCA Victor, 1969 – Genre: Rock) https://open.spotify.com/album/4zN5GUtLpVWOADMofESxlB?si=HSnthW7FRZOYUIw4mOf4sw Far lesser known than pre-fab-but-quite-good rock groups like The Monkees or The Archies, The Hardy Boys (based on a hip Saturday morning cartoon adaptation of the popular novel series) were criminally underrated for a group that didn’t particularly, you know, exist. A talented list of session folks contributed to these tunes, including singer Reed Kailing (later a member of The Grass Roots and Player) and songwriters like Ed Fournier and Ricky Sheldon (writers of another popular toon theme, Fat Albert) and Ellie Greenwich (“Be My Baby,” “River Deep – Mountain High”). This record isn’t just for cartoons or the people who like ‘em. ALSO AVAILABLE TODAY AT DIGITAL SERVICE PROVIDERS! But in the mid-‘00s, he was looking to be seen as more than a child star, dropping the “Lil” and collaborating with producers like The Neptunes, No I.D. and Swizz Beatz. “Let Me Love You,” a collaboration with B2K singer Omarion (in his first solo role), finally earned Bow Wow a Top 5 pop hit as well as a third No. 1 rap single. Now that it’s part of the popular Let Me Hold You Challenge on TikTok, we’re headed to the vault with four rare remixes and instrumental versions of the track. Derringer focused on newer material on 1980’s Face To Face, released after the breakup of his band (also named Derringer); highlights include the bubblegum pop of “Let The Music Play” and a guitar-laden cover of Neil Young’s “My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue).” Bonus tracks on each include several rare mono single versions. With his debut solo album, featuring guest appearances by Edgar Winteras well as Joe Walsh of the Eagles, Derringer finally came into his own. His song “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo,” originally recorded for a Johnny Winter LP, became a rock radio sensation, crossing over to No. 23 on the pop charts, his biggest hit to date. Two single versions of “Rock and Roll” and a single version of follow-up “Teenage Love Affair” are featured on this new edition of Derringer’s breakthrough album. In 1979, Hancock released Feets Don’t Fail Me Now, an album largely eschewing jazz in favor of vocal disco tracks co-written with heavy-hitting pop songwriters like Jeffrey Cohen (“Freeway of Love”), Allee Willis (“September”) and Ray Parker Jr. (“Ghostbusters”). Critics were confused, but albums like this (and 1982’s follow-up Lite Me Up) provide a crucial insight into Hancock’s growing interest in all things electronic. With his debut solo album, featuring guest appearances by Edgar Winter as well as Joe Walsh of the Eagles, Derringer finally came into his own. Herbie Hancock Feets Don’t Fail Me Now (Expanded Edition) (Columbia, 1979 – Genre: Jazz) + https://open.spotify.com/album/7o51eYlPgCJ1s86Tdy0XcZ?si=YVgNCAGcREW0jaQzb_5ZBQ Herbie Hancock’s reinvention from jazz pianist to MTV staple with 1983’s hip-hop instrumental “Rockit” sure seemed like a strange pivot…but in truth, it was nothing compared to what came in between those phases. Feetsmoves anew with seven bonus single and disco versions of “Tell Everybody,” “You Bet Your Love,” “Honey From The Jar” and “Ready Or Not.” Various Artists Weird Nightmare: Meditations On Mingus (Columbia, 1992 – Genre: Jazz) https://open.spotify.com/album/7s3aBheDTuad5yzqLvslGh?si=I3hj0gWzQ5K8MQym_e02Ug This fascinating tribute to jazz legend Charles Mingus was assembled by producer Hal Willner, who’d previously assembled fascinating tribute albums on everything from Thelonious Monk to Disney films. Backed primarily by the unique-interval instruments of Harry Partch, a host of notable names pay tribute to Mingus’ most enduring compositions on Weird Nightmare, including Keith Richards and Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones, Leonard Cohen, Henry Rollins, Elvis Costello, Chuck D of Public Enemy, Vernon Reid of Living Colour and others. Anchored by the Top 40 country single “Five Brothers” plus Robbins-penned originals like “San Angelo” and “She Was Young and She Was Pretty” and folk standards like “Streets Of Laredo,” More Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs is another fine love letter to the frontier spirit of yore.
