I believe all of these have previously received some kind of surround mix, whether quad or 5.1. It seems likely that these surround mixes have been "translated" to 360 Reality Audio by Sony.

Wow! On that Ray Pennington release. "You Don't Know Me" was #61 on Hot Country songs and "The Other Woman" landed at #74. "This Song Don't Care Who Sings It" landed at #69. Was this track a dig at Wanda Jackson's "This Gun Don't Care Who It Shoots"?

I believe this to be his only album on Monument.

Not a lot of Pennington out there digitally or on CD.

Wish they'd release "complete album collections". I know the price would be high but to have all one artist's complete catalog in one collection would be awesome. I'm thinking all the Dolly Parton albums. Think they've all been released now. Believe she has 60 albums. Then add an additional disc of collaborations and non-lp tracks.

 One can dream, can't they?

The Michael Nesmith & the First National Band and Second National band as well as the other RCA output was a very pleasant surprise. The bonus tracks are amazing and the sound quality is the best I've heard.

How about a Michael Nesmith 1970-1974 collection and contract Andrew Sandoval to compile it. I'm sure he'd find even more unreleased tracks. At the very least, A Micheal Nesmith First National Band Collection. Andrew Sandoval is the ultimate Monkees and Michael Nesmith historian, producer, archivist and their manager. At least consult him!

Regarding the sound quality of the original 3 albums with the First National Band .. it was rumored for the longest time that the master tapes were destroyed in a fire. How did the remasters from Sony end up sounding so spectacular? Are the Masters lost or have they been located?

There is some merit to this idea in my opinion. The Ronnie Milsap album boxset is a good example. Having similar sets for long tenured RCA artists like, say Charley Pride and Dolly Parton would go a long way in my book.

I don't understand the whole streaming-only thing for some of these Columbia Legacy digital-only albums. They have a great "Essential Jerry Vale" compilation, but it's streaming-only on all platforms. It's not possible to purchase and download it.

For some of those they have rebranded previous CD releases (for instance, the Complete Columbia Singles CDs that Real Gone released for Blood Sweat & Tears has become The Essential BS&T on streaming).

If it's free, it's not legal. What on earth would make you think that was a legal website?

EDIT: Oh, you're right. I stand corrected. You log in with your local library card. Hmm, interesting. Thanks.

I like the streaming thing, I just wish there were a good way to keep up with new music additions to the services. Seems like a no-brainer way to get more $$. I’m a big fan of easy listening and lounge music and would love to get a weekly list of additions by genres. That’s why I miss this thread not being updated.
