No different then sports. Check everyday, masks when not dancing. If they can play sports then they should be able to dance.

stars? I haven't heard of some of these names....must be big stars

I was upset that new season of "So You Think You Can Dance" was cancelled by Fox. I hope that it eventually comes back

That most of the "stars" are unknown to most people has been true since the beginning. If you're a sports fan you might know the athletes. If you have kids or watch Disney or Nickolodeon shows, you might know the teen/young adult performers. If you're old enough to remember sitcoms from forty years ago, you might remember the occasional actor from days gone by. If you're a political junkie, you might recognize some of the contestants. And so on. Of course no A-list star is going to waste his/her time doing a show like this.

I hadn't heard that Fox canceled So You Think You Can Dance. That's too bad -- it's a much better dance show than DWTS, particularly once they are down to the top 12 and everyone left can actually dance (unlike DWTS where you have people who are basically just walking around the floor while their partners dance around them make it all the way to the top). It might be a good decision, though, since I still think that having a dance competition show during a pandemic just doesn't make sense. Hopefully So You Think You Can Dance will return in the future.

The ratings have declined substantially over the past two seasons. Probably no reason to go looking for explanations behind that. When ratings drop, changes are made in an attempt to fix things.

If they wanted Len gone, why wouldn't they just fire him?

I don't know, maybe the uproar of the last firings got too loud?

Has there been an uproar? Do the producers really care?

In prior seasons, Len has commuted between England and LA on a regular basis. It's understandable that he wouldn't want to do that at present. For that matter, it's understandable he might not want to come to the US at all right now. The official explanation given for his changed role seems entirely plausible.
