According to a poster on the kanyetothe D'Angelo thread, the game credits list the personnel for this song as:

Written by: D'Angelo, Daniel Lanois, Rocco DeLuca.
Keys/Vocals: D'Angelo
Guitar: Daniel Lanois
Drums: Brian Blade
Percussion: Cyril Neville/Daryl Johnson

So it looks like a D'Angelo co-write but I haven't found any other online source to confirm.

 

Wow, its a major surprise seeing Lanois pairing up with D'Angelo. Thought its a Messiah outtake but now hoping this might be a sign of future fruits.

 

Daniel Lanois produced all the vocals on the Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack.

Looks like this will be out in March 2019.

 

Awesome. Let's hope this ties in with a release of Black Messiah PT 2, or any new music.

Just heard the song via someone recording the song from the game and it is amazing! Love the vibe of the song, as usual it is among the same high quality that D'Angelo has set since his first album

I would really like to see them release this on a 12" single with multiple versions. Maybe for RSD 2019.

 

It's a pleasant enough track but not really doing much for me

 

Maybe because it didn't take 15 years to create it?

 

I love the Black Messiah album.

 

It’s the shorter version given that it’s a Like 4 minutes in length compared to the one on YouTube that’s like 5-6 minutes.

Regardless.. I’m glad it’s out there for purchase.

 

I’m glad D’Angelo is out there making music. That’s all I want. And this song is the best that has been released in the past year for me personally.

 

It is a pretty great song. And yet again, unlike anything he did before. That's D.
