    I'm not positive, but I think have an idea that Richard Clapton took his name after Eric - so any confusion is intentional. :)

    Not that there is much similarity in their music.

    It can be, and I take your point, but generally when people say "Gee, that's dated". I think they mean it as a pejorative, as in "It looked OK at the time because that sort of thing was fashionable".

    Agree. The most common usage of "dated" is not value-neutral.

    It's not the greatest cover shot, but I'm not sure in what sense it's "dated". Calling something dated implies that there was a time when it looked good.
