so next year is the 50th anniversary of David’s Space Oddity album, Which I think we can bet our house on it that it will start a run of 50th anniversary of his albums.
What would you like to see released on each album

There's a bunch of 40th anniversary discs that are overdue. Bring them on first.

no 5.1's, no interest in my world. I have most of Bowie's stuff, so all I need are albums to add to Ziggy, Young Americans, Stage and David Live. I think Station to station could do with a better 5.1

Why do a 50th of Space Oddity when there's a perfectly good 2CD 40th that came out with demos, outtakes, and BBC versions? What more could they do? I doubt we'll see any individual album reissues until all these boxed sets are out of the way, which won't be until at least 2020.

Demos and outtakes? Depends what Bowie gave permission to be released.

I’d rather wait for the box sets to finish (there’s either two or three left), and Blackstar deluxe.

First things first, why do another one of those that - even though it's great - leaves a bad taste in your mouth just because. Plenty of material to make all kinds of anniversary stuff.

Wouldn't all that stuff be more fitting for the previous album.

Maybe something like the Queen 40th Anniversary cd's for every album:
    - (Hybrid SA-)CD with the original album.
    - An additional bonus EP CD with non-album singles, b-sides, ep's, live tracks... from the respective period.
    - Or if possible the two previous combined on one disk together with a DVD with a hi-rese version of the album, videos, live footage... and possible multichannel mixes.
    - In good mastering ofcourse.
    - Original high quality artwork + additional photos....
    - This in jewel cases, no digipaks or whatever.

This would be much more appealing to me than the boxes. Also not a real fan of outtakes and the like.

Tull is the model. So, book sets for me, please. A lot of Bowie's albums have 5.1 mixes already done, so put them in. A flat transfer of the original master is essential too.

I'm happy with them starting again with Space Oddity - though I'd prefer they switched back to the replacement cover art (red spiky hair), which I've always preferred to the original artwork.

Then roll them out, one, two, or even three per year.

I think the "administration" should go beyond what David gave permission for at this stage. Its bigger than that.

100% agreed. Bowie is no longer with us, we're into his legacy now.

5.1 surround remixes for the whole album, naturally. There are fan-made ones for the title track, now that we have the multitrack stems. Seems likely that more multitracks survive and the lush quality of the production would lend itself to the format

Not my intention at all. It's just that all that material has its place and would stylistically sound out of place on the Space Oddity album.:edthumbs:

Absolutely. As much as I respect Bowie and what he wanted to showcase there is also the long term catalog that needs fresh releases and if they are available and worthy of release, release them.
