"On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy," his rep, JoAnn Geffen, said in a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter. "David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years."

Finally at peace. With he, and Davy Jones gone, I feel like an elder for sure.

RIP,some of my earliest memories are as a kid waiting for him to come on tv each week.

  13. Wow. This is really really sad. When I found out about his early onset Alzheimer's, I just thought how difficult someone so young should be hit by that horrible disease. This just tops that in tragedy IMHO. A talented, underappreciated performer, singer and actor. RIP

I didn't watch Marcus Welby often, but I happened to tune in sometime in early 70.
It was the ep. where DC played a diabetic teenager. I had no idea who it was
at the time, but his performance left an impression.

10 years his junior, I wanted to sing like him, look like him, etc.
When those DUIs started to become a regular thing, I figured it was a matter of time.
What a talent, and what a sad end. Condolences to the family and friends.
