Loved watching The Partridge Family. R.I.P.

He was also the star of one of my all-time favorite movies, "Spirit Of '76"...

  2. Yes, unfortunately with non Alzheimer's dementia that is often caused by alcohol abuse but, regardless, it was a sad end for an underappreciated talent. I don't know if he still had a drinking problem or not but, of the two Cassidy brothers, he was the more talented and that talent really wasn't appreciated instead, he was seen as teeny bopper wonder by most folks.

He was an early hero of mine, before The Beatles. What a life, when you can sing, play guitar and have all the girls in the world in love with you.

    RIP.

Very sad. I loved the Partridge Family when I was a kid. They really did have some great songs.

This one holds up really well.

    RIP

I hope he's "right in the middle of a good dream". At least we'll always have Keith Partridge.

I wasn't a fan, but there is no disputing that he had one hell of a voice.

I remember when I saw Type O Negative one time. The band loved 70's sugar, and had " I Think I Love You" blasting before they took the stage. Knowing the lyrics got me some that night. Thank You for the mammories. Peter loved that story.

He was a talented singer and guitar player. Unfortunately for him, his fame came playing music that he really wasn't enthused about.

My sons and I occasionally watch the TV show, and he and Danny Bonaduce are a very underrated comic duo. They had great chemistry and were often hilarious.

Rest In Peace, David. You meant so much to so many kids in the 70's.

I love that album. My brother had that when it first came out, and by the time he kind of outgrew the PF my mom had fallen in love with the record. So we always had that playing at Christmas for years and years.

RIP, I'm sure some would disagree with me on this but for my tastes he did the definitive versions of Cherish and How Can I Be Sure.

On my way home from my bereavement group, turned on Me-TV FM in the middle of the Partridge Family doing "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree," straight into the theme song, then to a break. (The station doesn't have any live hosts.) I figured he's gone. Rest well.

Thank you Mr. Cassidy for the great music you gave to my younger years. R.I.P.
Ever since I heard about your short part in "To Be Lovers" Everytime I played
the song I looked forward to it because it was the most perfect part of the song.
Even now it gives me chills.

For those of you who want to hear it, it's at the 1:11 mark.

I said to myself back in '71 that I had to start emulating and follow closely one David Cassidy. I was in 3rd Grade and up here in Eugene at the time I began to Watch The Partridge Family. I wanted a girlfriend so badly. I saw how he was being depicted on the television show and I took a cue from him. If he could have all of those girls, then I could too. It was unfortunate that my plan never developed like the way I thought it was for Keith Partridge. It still blows my mind how I collected those early Bell Records of his with The Partridge Family never knowing that the other end of the '70s would reveal a connection to somebody else and Cassidy by way of Mike Appel and Jim Cretecos. Once I moved back to Santa Clara in the late Summer of '72, Cassidy and The Partridge Family fell by the wayside. I had discovered The Rolling Stones and was working my way towards discovering Springsteen just before I left Santa Clara on Labor Day of '78. The Partridge Family and Springsteen connection still amazes me.
