Yes, this album is a layed back masterpiece. Perfect music to chill out to on a warm summer night.

  6. It's his 4th best album after Lighthouse, CROZ and Skytrails, maybe even 5th after Here If You Listen

    It's his best album.......by far.

  10. I'm not getting anymore carried away than someone eulogising about his first album which I for one don't rate as highly as his later more mature works, which incidentally I really like.

It's all a matter of personal opinion after all. His later work is more consistent and song focused. IICORMN has a fair amount of empty space and wordless songs.

It was supposed to have a smiley emoji to point out that I already know that and was just chiding you. Of course it’s your opinion

This album got some hype in the aughts....and it is great....maybe a bit overhyped.....but I still love it.

The first Crosby/Nash album is a classic as well.

Same experience years ago. I kept waiting for something to make an impression. Yes, it sounds great. Yes, Crosby had a nice voice. Added up to zilch.

1970 is pretty much late 60's, is it not? Culturally, it's always seemed to me like the final year of "the 60s."

Would love recs/links on the best vinyl pressing for this?

Any chance there's a reissue with bonus material or anything in the pipeline? 50th Anniversary perhaps?

Original pressings sound great, and I still run across them from time to time out there. The Rhino reissue from a couple of years ago was done by Chris Bellman, the CSN albums he cut sound great and I’m sure this one would sound great as well.

If Only I Could Remember My Name is one of my top 20-30 all time favorite rock albums. I have the original CD, the DVD-Audio, original LP, Classic Records 33 RPM and 45 RPM versions. I introduced this album to my wife 2-3 years ago and she wants to play it all the time. In the whole CSN pantheon, I put Remember My Name 3rd after CSN and Deja Vu.

  24. It does sound great. There is some distortion on the vocals to the first song but it sounds like it is on the original recording to me. It's a strange sounding album overall with some parts very clear and obviously well recorded / mixed and other parts a bit murky and muffled.
