I'd rather see the self-titled Byrds ('73) get a remix. Doesn't he own the rights?

Whatever he does in no way diminishes the original album. More power to him.

  6. Also, Metropole has done a string of really interesting pop/orchestra crossover projects, including ones with Adrian Belew, Snarky Puppy (original music), Steve Vai (original music), and Terry Bozzio. They are really unique.

Thus is a silly idea. So much of the ‘feel’ of this album is it being a product of its time. Is he recording it analog? Is he resurrecting Jerry from the grave? Can his heart handle the requisite drugs? You can’t recreate a unique moment in time.

I’ve been hoping Bob would re-do Blonde on Blonde. Could be fun!

That must be where an introduction was made, as Michael League of Snarky Puppy has worked with Crosby for the last few years.

  12. That would be my guess. I'm surprised at the number of people who feel Crosby's debut belongs only to the land of lava lamps and copious amounts of THC. That sort of describes "Music Is Love," but a lot of the album has really beautiful and very tightly composed melodies. That's especially true of Laughing, Tamalpais High, and Orleans. With a bog-standard orchestra, those might become a bit staid, but Metropole has a reputation for taking on dangerous arrangements and even a bit of avant garde. I'm guessing it could be really interesting, especially for the tunes mentioned above.

I'll admit that I might prefer a career summation to just that album though. Things like Delta, Critical Mass, The Wall Song, Compass, The Climber, Darkness, or Through Here Quite Often might work really well with orchestral treatments.

'Get Into'? Didn't he single handedly start the whole enterprise in 1965?

I'm in, now I'm older I'm more open to "orchestrations", in my youth, no chance would I go anywhere near "string things".

There is some pot grower with a high profile (pun intended) on Twitter that has already named a strain of bud after Croz. I would figure he wants directly in on the action, much like Tommy Chong.
