David Gilmour has today announced his first live shows in London in eight years in support of his new album Luck and Strange (out 6th September).
The shows - the first to be announced around the new album - will take place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th & 15th of October, 2024, and will be the only UK dates.
Tickets will go on general sale at 10am on Friday, 10th May.

Generally, if an artist is planning further EU shows, it would be nice to announce it all at the same time since many of us will undergo "financial and geographical inconvenience"... It seems fair to me, at least.

I really wish they would say if there are anymore U.K. dates to be announced before I decide if I should risk spending money on transport and accommodation down to London… what a terrible way to treat fans.

I also wonder if a CD preorder from another country would make one eligible for those presale tickets, any ideas?

    Clearly still fully judgmental….

Shouldn’t you make more of an effort before accusing someone of treating fans horribly?

How utterly boring that he just does a week
Of shows again at Royal Albert Hall. Doesn’t he own a flat in South Kensington?

I'm guessing DG will do his normal tour route with North America in the spring 2025 (assuming its a full scale tour).
I wonder who will be in the touring band besides Guy Pratt (bass) and the Webb sisters (back up singers). I'm guessing Steve DiStanislao on drums since he is on most of the album.

Depressing but predictable with the inevitable mental ticket prices to follow.

Since I took my son to see Waters on the last tour we might try and score tickets for this -won't be many if any opportunities after this.

Disappointing but as expected [he did the same on the last tour]. If he'd made it to Manchester or Leeds i'd have been up for it, but I cannot summon up the enthusiasm for a London trek. Could have gone to London to attend the anaesthetic meeting I am attending face to face, but the virtual option won out and I am in my study at home instead. I guess I don't like London.

Toronto, NY, LA and Chicago isn't quite what I'd refer to as a full scale tour but I'd be happy if he played any dates in North America.

Playing four shows in a row is hard work for a 78 year old larynx!

I'm in London for a work event on the 9th. I'm hoping I can get the travel covered on expenses. I think accommodation would be a stretch, though.
At least Royal Albert Hall has a really good cloakroom where I'll be happy to deposit my work stuff.
