 Hey guys, believe what you like as it makes no difference to me either way. I just call them as I hear them and have compared several times to reach my conclusions.

To answer your question Ralph I honestly don't know if it's every DCC. I had all Japan pressings except for all The Doors and a Linda Ronstadt GH's discs from the get go. They always sound great so I felt no need to check out their USA siblings.

A bit hyperbolic as they're not dead - MoFi and DCC->AF are quite alive and well, cranking them out faster than you can gobble them up.

But you did compare the USA to the Japan cds ?

You mention you didn't own the USA.

You must have super human hearing. :D

I just won a still sealed DCC Aqualung vinyl LP on eBay for US$76. No, based on original retail, not a great deal, but based on what even used copies have been going for in recent years, I'm pretty satisfied with my winning bid. Been waiting a long time to a hold of one -- can't wait to hear it!

DCC and MoFi both went bankrupt. AF is alive. "Well" I can't comment on. But regardless, AF has the privilege of marketing to those who have been schooled as to what an audiophile release brings to the table...something DCC and MoFi failed to do.

I'll concede you have a point there about both of them going bankrupt. However, like the proverbial phoenix, both have arisen from the ashes with MoFi emerging stronger than ever, what with cranking out CDs, LPs and SACDs that are being adjudged as "home runs" by a variety of enthusiastic reviewers. AF, on the other hand, seems to have stumbled badly and lost credibility making all sorts of silly mistakes that are wholly unacceptable for a premium brand that makes audiophile-caliber CDs ... and they also seem to have given up on SACDs and - by the dearth of it - probably LPs.

Wow, I just bought a NM LP copy for 80 bucks on Audiogon. And it is mahhhhvelous!
Better than the Classic Records 33 and 45 rpm versions IMHO.

Does the CD version sound better?

Got it last week. Love it. I have some early press UK Chrysalis/Grn lbl "Island" logo originals -- the originals might be slightly warmer but the DCC competes easily and I may prefer it if I did a proper A/B. Very, very pleased I was able to get it. And at the price I got it.

I'd be interested in that comparison too.
I have both a DCC Beach Boys Pet Sounds CD issue and the vinyl LP. I prefer the LP by a small margin.
