    How good is this?

I might be able to snag a copy.

    I welcome your opinions!

The best version to be found on CD, IMHO.

    My opinion...

What for a coincidence... Made In Japan is my CD of the Month in August.

Well, the best version is DCC's on gold and vinyl! A little behind... the regular EMI remaster, which added the encores Black Night, Lucille and Speed King.

The 93 3-CD remix is good for the performances... some are much better than on Made In Japan, but the sound quality is too clean!

You can't go wrong with Steve's remaster! :)

The DCC has an excellent "you are there" feel to it. By all means get it.

Steve's DCC gold version is a must have if you are a Purple fan.

I love Deep Purple's live recordings. There is a lot out there, including a multi disc set available in Europe. This set used to be only available as bootlegs!

I have to warn you though: once you hear the DCC gold disc, all the other live recordings (that I used to love before I heard the DCC - BTW, fantastic band in concert, IMO) are now tarnished - and some recordings just *suck* (eg: anything from Purple Pyramid Records, the worse sounding gold discs that I have ever heard) because of the fantastic sound quality of this DCC disc.

Don't pass this disc by! Grab it!

Thne one thing that bothers me about this album is the switching of the guitar and keyboards in the stereo image. The 93 box restored the correct positioning which is the main reason I prefer that version. On the 2 disc emi version, the encores have the corrected imaging, but they left the original album mix for the original content. ... I don't suppose the DCC version tampered with this at all? ....steve c

If you can get it, you should. I placed a pre-order for it many moons past , actually before it was released, and the e-tailer was unable to fulfill .
