Night 1 at Wrigley last year was a good one. Held up for repeat listening. I think the show from the Gorge 2 years ago was also well regarded. Overall, they are better in person than on tape. The experience is worth the trip.
Get the recent June 16 Citi Field show. Someone on the Forum said SPAC was also good (Saratoga PAC, that is). Also, I haven't heard a bad 2016 Summer tour show. I also recommend night 2 of 2017 Hollywood Bowl.
2nd the 1st Wrigley -- it's a good one. You should also check out my 1st show at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on 2015-11-20 --- I went because my buddy wanted to see the band, --- I was very surprised how much I enjoyed it. I was skeptical of the whole enterprise, especially after being at all three Fare Thee Well shows, where I heard the rumors of new band during that weekend, but didn't quite believe it. I will be at both Alpine shows this weekend which will be shows 6 and 7 for me. Link to Scottrade show on the archive.
Again this Saturday.............. The Sirius/XM Grateful Dead Channel is going to live broadcast Alpine Valley 6/23.
I saw the show in Raleigh and it was great. From what I’ve heard the band has been pretty on this year and all the shows have been good ones.
Night 2 at Hollywood Bowl was very good. I was there and at Saratoga and would go with the Hollywood Bowl show.
I was at night 2, and others here raved about it to0. Well, an appropriate Dead & Co. amount of rave, anyway.
Atlanta two weeks ago was smokin!! 17 minute eyes and a great scarlet/fire!!! Ended w morning dew, a scorching all along the watchtower and wrapped it up with some chuckie b.
Just got tickets for Dodgers Stadium on July 7th. It will be my first Dead-affiliated concert experience, and I’m pretty excited.
Well, it's a Saturday, so you can go in certain of ONE song you're going to get. You'll know it when it comes.
My recommendation would be to get the Relisten app( RE) and listen to the uploaded shows and find out which ones you like and want in higher sound quality. I have listened to all of the summer17 shows and some of fall17. There are plenty of tremendous shows-citifield, Fenway, Georgia, Arizona, Chicago from summer. Hartford from fall are a few imho.
I think @Crispy Rob got it right. I listen to most of their shows and there is no doubt that, in my mind, John is the one holding them back. That, and every tempo is about 20% too slow.
