They were made for the 80. They’re actually pretty cool. Same as the lighted remotes but a lot less bulk in your hand.

Now 203's are actually selling on ebay for well over $1k

Oppo was insane to stop manufacture. Just raise the price. Profits would have gone through the ceiling even if unit sales didn't increase. I recently saw a used 203 on ebay with 108 "watchers".

    While i would like a backup or upgraded x.05 I wouldn't buy a x.03.

Apparently it was some kind of a p*ck*r contest inside the corporation. We are blessed with at least one Management head there who insisted to keep support going within the company. You never see something like that.
Whomever he is, should be identified and canonized. [IMG] Or at least, Schitt should name a DAC after him, just to needle them.

The Cambridge at least isn't based on the Oppo, but rather starts with a similar platform and then modifies it to its own design. I think the Primare does the same, if not the other also.

I would pay $2500 for a new 205, especially if they restored the ability to play iso's & there was some sort of blu-ray region free option (There are 3rd party kits for the 9.x & the 10.x

I mean this is just simply not true… I’ve been reading back in a lot of old tt15s1 threads since I just purchased one, and yes msrp has gone up a couple hundred in the last 4-5 years, but people were raving about open box deals in 2018 for $1199, and just today I ordered an open box from the same place for $1299. Not bad all things considered.

MSRP went up from $1499 to $1799 in the last year.
    That's a $300 jump in one year.
    That's a nice jump.
The Denon figures are based on what I actually paid for mine.
A jump from $299 to $499 is significant as it is a 60% price hike.

Where are you buying the Marantz for $1299 with a new warrantee?

Are they still selling the Technics SL1210M5G for $700 like when I bought mine?
    I think the new 1200GR is now about $1800 bucks---but you can't buy one anywhere---am I right?
My point is that inflation is HERE.
And supplies are SHORT on a lot of products right now.

I could be wrong but thought it was $1599 or $1699 a year ago.

I read a review from 2020 stating retail was $1499---but the price has been moving around since it came out in what---2008?
So I give up---I wasn't precise enough to play pricing expert on this particular table and that is on me.

Wasn't trying to pick on the table or anything of the sort.
I never placed an order for one so perhaps you know things I don't.
Looks like a very desirable package.

:shrug:Tomato tomato. I think we are due for a much larger price correction (re inflation) as you have mentioned though.
