Okay. I thought that they were pointless, but as long as they're useful to someone, then I'll continue as I find them. Speaking of which 10% off with code CHESHIRE and $40 minimum order
used a 10% coupon yesterday and bought the following CDs: Status Quo: Hello (have the original CD, remastered version is limited edition, this was $9.82) Status Quo: Quo (have the original CD, remastered version is limited edition, this was $9.82) OMD: First (have the original CD, remastered version has extra songs, this was $9.14) Kraftwerk: Autobahn (had the LP years ago, never had the CD, this was $9.55)
It went from 890, to 860, and then back up to 880 this week. I’ve never really seen the numbers bump up & down like that without any additions, but there doesn’t seem to be anything new. Very odd. As I noted in an earlier post, the timeframe of past blowout bin drops was usually every 3-4 months, and we’re right at that point now (not to mention the need to dump stock for tax reasons). I’m assuming we’ll see it happen in the next couple weeks.
The MADNESS discount count is good for a few more hours. Despite not being able to afford it at the moment and resigning myself to passing on it, since The Pretty Things' massive complete albums box set is out today and considered "in stock," I put the coupon to good use. Amazon has it for $399; on DeepDiscount, it came out to $332.39 including shipping + tax. The Pretty Things The Complete Studio Albums: 1965-2020 - 13LP + 2x10-inch Vinyl Box Set [Import] on DeepDiscount
The number of things in the bin ticked up by fifty or so it seems. Not a lot new that caught my attention but these seemed like worthy buys for the price. Is there a way to view what's newly added? The closest option seems to be "available date newest," which usually gets a few of the new arrivals, but it's the release date of the item itself rather than the 'newest availability' of being in the blowout bin. If this is something which can be done (or is obvious and I am missing it!), it would be great to know how to do so. That Scepter album is quite tempting!
I just saw those while looking for something cheap to take me over the free shipping threshold. They also have Field Music's Commontime LP for a fiver.
The in-stock CD's have leisurely floated down from 10,000 at the last restock a few months ago to 9337. The only thing more dismal than the current selection is the prices. Does anyone think that the remaster of the "48 Hours" soundtrack is truly a bargain at $20.60? It retails at over $60! 48 HRS (Original Soundtrack) (Remastered, Italy - Import) Am I missing out on something great?
Thanks for the heads up! They added quite a few indie/alternative titles worth picking up for under $5 each shipped (after the MADNESS promo code): Commontime Field Music 5060146096119 LP $5.18 For those unfamiliar, the lazy comparison I could make is that they're like XTC-meets-The Shins. I haven't heard this record, but apparently there are a lot of '80s pop overtones on it. Ft.excursions Hifi Sean 5053760028086 LP $5.15 This is Sean Dickison, formerly (well, they're reuniting this year...so I guess currently) of The Soup Dragons. It's electronic music featuring artists like Alan Vega, Yoko Ono, Bootsy Collins and Norman Blake. Jaime Brittany Howard 880882378813 LP $5.15 Solo album from Alabama Shakes' frontwoman. Scepter Records Out In The Streets Again: The Soul Sounds Of Scepter Various Artists 090771554918 LP $5.15 Really looking forward to this one - looks great. Thanks @ATMP ! Siesta Hater 809236152916 LP $5.20 I had never heard of the band, but it just *looked* like something I'd like..and I wasn't wrong! They're a female-fronted Swedish indie pop group on Fire Records. I previewed some tracks and it's marvelous. Fans of Alvvays or Tallies should enjoy it. Plus, according to the Fire website, it's a double LP! Ullages Eagulls 720841213468 LP $5.11 British post-punk revivalists influenced by early Cure - their second and last album before splitting up, from 2016.
A lot of the new arrivals (Richard Thompson Cold Blue soundtrack LP, for example) seem to be on popmarket, too, for a buck or two more. Popmarket seems to be easier to search, so I'm trawling through their stuff by price and looking up anything interesting on deepdiscount. You're right, there should be an easier way to do this.
Yes, I saw Hater touring that album in the dim and distant pre-pandemic days and they're very good, a bit more rocking than the "Swedish indiepop" description might make you think.
thanks for that RT tip, still needed that one, for $5 it’s a steal.. tacked on a few suggestions mentioned above for the ride with “madness” thanks all!
Bin has almost doubled. The prices, however, don’t seem to be too deeply discounted and the selections are, for the most part, artists that aren’t very mainstream. Monkees fans - a lot of 7a Records stuff here and that all seems to be more discounted via DeepDiscount at Walmart already.
