guys, I have a rotel Tt with a Sumiko Blue Point special cart.

I'm getting high pitched whine for like 3 minutes when I turn it on, then it goes away. I'm told that I have to Degauss the cart.

Next question......HOW? Anyody have this cart and have to do this also?
Is there a cheap way to do this?

    thanks for any help.

It doesnt say where to get one of the Lps, tho.

Oh well...any idea where i can get one of those Lps?

I had an original Blue Point special a few years ago. I got mine from Lyle Catridges around 1992 or 1993 for $225!! It was a steal back then. It inherently does have a slight edge to it, but it is a good cartridge nonetheless. It is not a child friendly cartridge as the broken cantilever on mine can attest. One can notice the brightness in MFSL LPs "Aja" and "I Robot".

If you want to spend a few bucks, ca. $180.00, you can de-gauss with a BENZ/AESTHETIX ABCD-1 CARTRIDGE DEMAGNETIZER from elusivedisc.com . I have one and it does work. I think it may be related to Sumiko's long lost Flux Buster.
