Diana Krall When I look In Your Eyes SACD

Quite good, actually. Lots of detail and separation, not as deep and panoramic as the some of the best recordings, but still nice. The CD was a little bright, AFAIR, and so is the SACD. Overall, a moderate improvement over the Redbook version (which had an excellent sound to begin with).

As for music, it has occurred to me this would be a perfect backround for a party that pretends to be informal, but still leans onto the safe side, and will never overstep a certain bound... you know the kind.

Added: I should have warmed up the equipment before listening critically to this SACD. Now, after the system is warmed up, I would change "moderate" to "tangible" improvement over the CD

 

I haven't compared the SACD and CD critically, but the SACD is very smooth and natural-sounding. Every Krall disc I've heard sounds great, but it is a real treat to hear her on SACD.
