The beta version that became standard just last week? I've read some people now have problems finding specific pressings through that new design.
It is, yes. A needless unnecessary change, I find it off putting, my visits have been fewer of late, that's unlikely to change.
I noticed the switch to change back to the previous version is gone. Liked the old version much much better.
Was this update made by people who don’t regularly use the site? I hated it as the Beta version, still hate it now. It’s much harder to find specific pressings and you have to look at so much data now to find what you want.
It's so bad, glad I'm not the only one that thinks so. When the beta version was running parallel with the old one I begged them not to do away with the old one. If there are a lot of versions of a certain release it won't even load them all, at least not for me. I'm sure sellers are noticing a drop in sales.
They also don’t have a way to add a release variation currently. I’ve been told that this is ‘on their radar’. This was a massive mistake on their end. The only thing I think works well is being able to narrow down country/ format label on releases that have many variations.
I haven't noticed all the versions of a certain release not loading. That's a terrible defect. I've gotten used to using filters to zero in on things. Not the way I prefer to search, but am getting used to it.
Yup. Horrendous! I love how they clipped the far left column, the year, so you can't read the year. Way to go.
Oh no! I was hoping they would leave the option. The new version is awful. What are they thinking? They won't change it back because to do so would be an admission of idiocy.
The switch button disappeared for me more than a week ago. It's terrible, you're so used to know one version of a site with all its navigation and features and then they're changing it (again). The preview button is just a hint that a site is going to change anyway and we can't do much against it. By the way, I noticed GoogleMail also has a 'preview' thing going on for a new design since a month or so. It's obvious they will change the design there permanently, too.
Gotta say, I didn't like that new master design at first, but now I really am quite used to the filtering options.
Well, to be fair, the first digit's still visible, so you can still tell what millennium any release is from.... I don't know how did this feature made it past the beta stage.
Just in case someone over there happens upon this thread, I will repeat what everyone has said. It’s awful.
Not that I care at all for this new interface at Discogs but were they thinking more about smartphone uses, getting things to easier to manage on that than those of us who have more visual real estate? I hear more about people using it "in the field" as a resource while crate digging so is that what is more about I wonder???
