    Question,
    I recently purchased 2 45's from a Discogs seller
The first one was $4.50 + $6.00 shipping
I thought that shipping was quite high so I decided not to purchase
Unless I found another item that would make up the difference.
I found another 45 i wanted also which was $2.00 (great price)
So I went ahead and placed the order. $6.50 + $6.00 shipping
I get an email saying the $2.00 45 was no longer available and I would get refunded $2.00
I immediately responded to cancel entire order but was told hours later it was too late.

Should he have contacted me first before shipping order?

I have already requested lowering shipping charge.

I would tell the seller to either cancel my order, which only the seller can do, or you will contact Paypal and make them aware of the situation by phone and when it does arrive you will be returning it at their cost. Just utter nonsense my friend. You do have the right because the seller changed the original order contractual obligation for you.

    Thanks Dave
    Those were exactly my thoughts.

He would not lower my shipping cost at all, so I told him I wanted to return it.
    Which was OK by him.
I asked for return label and he refunded me $3.00 for shipping
When I questioned why $3.00 to ship back if it was $6.00 to ship, I got another $3.00 refunded
    Was told "shipping materials"

Being a seller myself, not what I would have done.

:agree: Being a seller myself I would have gone the same route you would have I'm fairly certain and just cancel the original order. No need to create unnecessary problems and then have to rectify them later. :D What shipping materials is he/she using 24kt gold tape?

A bit strange that he just shipped the incomplete order without consulting you. Either he's the impulsive type or he was hoping you'd shrug your shoulders and take it.

Since it costs more to have it shipped back, at that point, I would've just suggested you keep it... but that's me.

Only other thing I'll mention is Discogs has no say in the shipping charges so they should not be held accountable for what sellers charge.

Sounds like he rushed to get what he had out the door. But yes, I agree he should have waited to send out the order until you confirmed it was cool. At least the seller accepted the return. To me, besides them rushing something out (which can be understandable), they did right.
