"Here Comes the Night" is another should-be classic. Brilliant bassline. 5/5 This album is pretty much all killer.

I have to watch myself because my tendency is to give everything a 5/5 because I love basically everything the Beach Boys did, even the "clunkers" - there's almost always some redeeming qualities about any song they recorded . . . but for this one I'm taking off a point for a shrill Brian vocal - not his best IMO (I wish Carl had a pass at this song) - no problems with the song itself which is great. 4/5

HCTN was a slam dunk from the very beginning becoming my favorite cut. I absolutely love Brian's singing this in his "rock" voice with his soaring falsetto here and there. Classic Brian and listening to this for 51 years, and I could be wrong, but I think it's all Brian all the time on this cut including production and bv's as well. Would easily give this more than a 5 but the rules won't let me, so a powerful 5/5 will have to do.

Here Comes The Night - good rockin' lead from Brian, cool backing vocals on the chorus. I like it. 5/5

What he said. One of the groups biggest sleepers, and to my ears in line with their best. A 5 for sure.

Yeah, that's my understanding, which makes it a tour de force performance by Brian.

Having said that, I reserve 5/5 for my absolute favourites. HCTN is just a notch below for me: 4/5

Another vote for HCTN as a classic. Brian’s vocals are outstanding. 5/5.

"Here Comes the Night" - solid bass and great Brian lead vocal. This album is full of classic cuts. 5/5

    "Here Comes The Night"

This is a classic Wilson/Love collaboration with a stellar lead from Brian. This is probably the worst mix on the album among the original mono mixes, with buried vocals and instruments underneath the bass guitar. It's still a great track, however.

    5/5

Let The Wind Blow is one of the better Beach Boys slow songs. Nice harmony, sensitive instrumentals, good lead. 5/5. I just missed Here Comes the Night but I would give that a 5/5 as well (the WH version, not the LA version!)

5/5 for the mono version. Also a great version on The Beach Boys in Concert album from 1973.

Beautiful ballad using the voices of Mike, Brian and Carl in a near perfect blend. 5/5.

Here Comes the Night. 5/5. Love this one. Could be my favorite on this my second favorite album.

Let the Wind Blow. 5/5. Not quite as good as Night, but still a five. Yes, as lou says, great blend of the vocals.

"Let The Wind Blow" is a definite 5/5 for me. I can't believe how sparse the instrumentation is, it sounds like such a full production, but it's really very minimal. Brian was really learning how to to do more with less at this time.

Anyway, I love it: brilliant art-pop-soul. Great vocals. And some of the most poetic lyrics Mike ever wrote.

Seems like a close relative of Country Air but perhaps not quite hitting CA's all out brilliance although it's one of the ingredients that make the album as great as it is. I'm putting a 4/5 sticker on this one.

in turn they each take a turn. simple. effective. centered.

5/5 for "Let the Wind Blow". And I agree that Carl's live take is a Soul rush.

This is the "Caroline No" of Wild Honey, except that the album doesn't end on a bum note. There's some reelin' in store for the patient listener.

    5/5
